Ashes in the Snow

I just wanted to throw up a quick update! The Between Shades of Gray/Ashes in the Snow movie is moving forward! Ruta has been sharing lots of pictures on Facebook and on Twitter. I am not sure whether or not I am able to share them on here so I am going to link to her social media.

And don’t forget you can always follow RutaFans on twitter. I try and share all of Ruta’s posts about the movie.

Our four year anniversary is coming up! On Mach 24 we will be four years old and I am trying to figure out something cool to do for you guys. Ruta is on tour so I don’t want to make her do anything else, but I am hoping I can find cool stuff for everyone. I still have tons of signed soundtrack cards for the official Between Shades of Gray book soundtrack and I have some BSG and Out of the Easy bookmarks that are signed.

Ashes in the Snow Casting News

For those of you who don’t know yet, Ashes in the Snow is the film name for Between Shades of Gray! We already know who will be playing Lina and now they’ve announced who will be playing Andrius.

You can see the full announcement here:

Jonah Hauer-King will be portraying Andrius. I am not familiar with him, but I’m pretty stoked about this announcement. Every new casting announcement they make the closer they get to filming the movie! It looks like Jonah is equally as excited about the film:

From the article it also looks like they will be filming in Lithuania which is awesome! I look forward to seeing the Lithuanian landscape in this film.

I feel like I’ve been waiting forever for Between Shades of Gray to be adapted into a movie and each step taken towards it happening makes me so happy. I have been waiting since I read this book a few years ago so I can definitely wait another year or so for it to come out.

How excited are you guys for this announcement?

Salt to the Sea

Look at the gorgeous cover for Salt to the Sea, Ruta’s new book coming out early next year. I love everything about it. The colors are dark, but rich and I love how there’s no image of the ship at all, only the life rings in the water. I cannot wait to get a chance to read this book. I know there are some lucky people out there right now who were able to pick up advanced galley’s at the expos that have been going on recently.

Here is a link to the cover reveal article that gives some more information on the upcoming release:
